Sling consultations

I am available for private sling consultations in Cambridge and surrounding villages. We can do the consultation in your own home, or you can come to me.

My fees are as follow


One to one consultation, £50 for up to 2h, (thereafter £10 per 30 min or part of).

Joint consultation, up to 2h, (2 parents with 2 babies), £35 per mum/family

Travel costs: 30p per mile over 5 miles 

A deposit of half the consultation fee is payable at booking time, and non refundable if cancelled within less than 24h before the consultation.

I own over 50 different slings, ranging from woven and stretchy wraps to meitais, soft structured carriers and ring slings. Prior to a consultation, we will discuss your needs, and I will bring a selection of slings for you to try, along with a specially weighted babywearing demonstration doll.

During a consultation I cover babywearing theory first, which includes:
history/background of slings
baby's reflexes when carried in a sling
baby's back and hip anatomy and development
how carry your baby in a sling in a way that respects the developing spine and hips
how to use a sling safely.

I demonstrate a few slings with a weighed demo doll. Then it is your turn to try slings of your choice with the demo doll (so you can concentrate on the tying and not have to worry about holding a wriggly baby),and finally you get to try the sling(s) of your choice with your baby.
I can also advise you on where to buy your sling(s) of choice.
